We love Microsoft. It is natural to get excited with the Microsoft technology stack these days - .NET Core takes the magic everywhere, .NET Standard provides portability and developers get mature cross-platform tooling. But if there is one thing we love more than Microsoft, it's Microsoft MVPs. We share your passion for innovation and appreciate all that MVPs do for the developer community. There is only one way for us to acknowledge MVP contributions - make all of Telerik .NET UI, including Xamarin tooling, entirely free for Microsoft MVPs.

Why Xamarin?

.NET isn't just for Windows any more and apps do not live in platform silos. Modern .NET developers are expected to build apps that cut through platform boundaries, but hopefully from a single shared code base. This is where Xamarin shines, almost single-handedly democratizing cross-platform mobile development with .NET. Developers get to target just about any platform with a shared codebase of C#/XAML and from the comforts of polished IDEs on Windows/Mac. Developer ninjas salute Xamarin.

Needless to say, we're big fans of Xamarin and continue heavy investments in Telerik UI for Xamarin – a set of complex yet highly performant native UI controls for all your Xamarin apps. Microsoft MVPs have always had complimentary access to Telerik DevCraft Complete, a bundle with all of our .NET UI suites, sans one. UI for Xamarin was a notable absentee - it's time to fix that.

Telerik Bundle Changes

We had a big R3 Release for Telerik .NET UI - with lots of new controls and UI enhancements across web, desktop and mobile. Along with the release, came a small modification to our popular Telerik DevCraft bundle - one with big repercussions. Telerik UI for Xamarin is now included in all our bundles - DevCraft UI, DevCraft Complete and DevCraft Ultimate!

We realize how enticing the Xamarin route is for .NET developers to make truly native cross-platform apps and we want all developers to be sucessful. None more so than Microsoft MVPs - you all now have UI for Xamarin included in your complimentary DevCraft license. If you were a Xamarin MVP, you already had access to Telerik UI for Xamarin. But with the recent program mergers, you are all Microsoft MVPs - congrats to that. You now have access to all of Telerik .NET UI - not just Xamarin.

All Microsoft MVPs can simply request a complimentary Telerik DevCraft license - polished UI for modern apps is now at your fingertips. Yup, as Oprah would say - 'You get a license. And you get a license ... Everyone gets a license!'

Telerik UI for Xamarin

Telerik UI for Xamarin includes elegant, polished and performant native UI widgets for all your Xamarin apps. With UI for Xamarin, you'll get to deliver your Xamarin apps quicker and delight users with beautiful functional UI.

It is easy to integrate Telerik UI for Xamarin in your existing projects - get the NuGet package for Visual Studio on Windows/Mac or just download the bits. If you have the luxury of starting greenfield projects, Telerik UI for Xamarin provides some simple Visual Studio Templates to get you to a good starting point - again both on Windows or Mac.

So what do you get with UI for Xamarin? Beautiful professionally engineered and highly performant UI - all the ammunition you need to delight users. You have gorgeous Charts, must-have ListViews, LOB-friendly DataGrids, handy Gauges, pixel-perfect Calendars, magical SideDrawers, super-helpful DataForm, essential TabView and much more. Powering Telerik UI for Xamarin is truly native UI for each platform - with support for Xamarin.iOS, Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.Forms.

Conclusion

Cheers to all you Microsoft MVPs who now have UI for Xamarin. Building a really cool Xamarin app with Telerik UI? - We would love to know about it. Have some feedback - positive or negative? We're all ears. Just drop us a note at uiforxamarin@progress.com.
